Aunt Brianna Visits

My sister, Brianna, is here for two and a half weeks while I finish up the school year.  She's just graduated from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and one of the perks of having a sister that's an artist is that she always has a camera ready.  She took a bunch of pictures of Mikaela today and they're alternately cute and funny.

Philadelphia Zoo May 2011

Oh Memorial Day weekend Bob decided we needed to go do something as a family.  So, on one of the hottest days yet of the year we went up to the Philadelphia Zoo.  Mikaela is still a bit too young to really enjoy all the animals but she was pretty happy to be driven around in her stroller.  They do have a family pack you can buy, well a few different choices which is totally worth it when the kids are young but old enough to enjoy the different shows and such.

Aislynn had a good time too, she took a lot of great pictures with her camera.  I'm totally jealous of her camera, it's awesome and takes really great close up pictures.  I foresee lots of time spent at the zoo in the future!

2 Months

Today, March 25, 2011, is Mikaela's 2 month birthday.  (Do you really count them as birthdays??) She's growing more animated each month between facial expressions, squeals, smiles, and just scrunching up her face when she's sleeping or getting ready to let us know she's not happy about her predicament.  She's over 10 lbs now and about 22 1/2 inches long.  (She goes for her 2 month check up on Thursday, March 31 so I'll have her stats better updated then.)

She's so beautiful to us.  We each love to stop and talk to her or smile at her just to get a reaction from her.  If you talk long enough to her she smiles and coos and tries so hard to talk back.  Here she is, on her 2 month birthday in all her happy glory:

Photo Sessions

My sister, Brianna, is an illustration major at University of the Arts in Philadelphia and she has this awesome camera so I hit her up to come take pictures of us and the kids for different reasons.  So last Friday she came over and took a few pics of the girls.  When I lose all the baby weight and then some I'm going to have her come back and take some family pics.  Anyway here is a few examples of the pictures she took of the girls.

I put the frame around the pictures, but Brianna is responsible for everything else except creating the two kids.  Haha!

Month 1

1 month

Today is officially one month since our second beautiful daughter was born.  After waiting so long to have another baby, and almost giving up that we'd ever have another, she's been such fun since we brought her home.  Going from this little, do nothing but eat, sleep and pooh baby, to a more wide awake baby with her own little personality emerging and somewhat of a regular schedule.  Her Dad and I aren't strict with a schedule so she'll probably adopt her own at some point that follows ours.  We can't wait to see how different she looks and acts at the end of month 2!
